Overview

The bodies of work Under the Sun, Dark Electric and Frontier X offer another perspectiveon the American Cowboy, the most familiar icon of the American West. Through unexpected moments and relationships, I explore this icon in a contemporary context while preserving its strength, resilience, and connection to the land.

Jim Krantz is an American photographer who has made a significant mark capturing the allure of the American West. His curiosity about people has driven him to explore unfamiliar environments, enriching his perspective and deepening his work.

Always pushing the boundaries of his craft, Jim's images convey vivid stories of passion, heroism, and adventure reflecting teh strength and vitality of his subjects.

Beyond photography, Jim has engaged various design collaborations including furniture, textiles, architectural glass and fashion. These ventures allow him to maintain dynamic energy behind his work without being confined to a single medium.

Born and raised in Omaha, Nebraska, Jim now lives in Los Angeles with his wife, Susan.
