Since founding Gilman Contemporary in 2007, L'Anne Gilman has built an art program featuring work across all media, with an emphasis on fine art photography. Recognized as a leading voice for photography in the Northwest, the gallery presents international artists whose work engages viewers through connection and discovery.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BA in Art History, L’Anne Gilman moved to Sun Valley in 1991 and spent years developing her expertise working with galleries and private art dealers. She founded the gallery on the belief that living with art has the power to subvert expectations and catalyze deeper engagement with our surroundings and each other. The gallery embodies this ethos through careful curation and outreach.
Gilman Contemporary offers a personal approach to acquiring and engaging with the visual arts. Through participation in art fairs and collaborations with collectors around the world, the gallery provides informed and approachable guidance for anyone looking to acquire art.
At the core of Gilman Contemporary is engagement and conversation in and around living with art.
