Felipe Jácome: The Unbroken Project

26 February - 26 March 2026
Overview
Felipe Jácome is an Ecuadorian photographer whose work explores the materiality of storytelling. The Unbroken Project, created in collaboration with Ukrainian photographer and dancer Svitlana Onipko, is a moving meditation on resilience, creativity, and the human spirit in times of war. The series captures members of the Ukrainian National Ballet mid-dance. Jácome and Onipko translate the language of dance into a visual expression of endurance, where movement becomes both defiance and survival. Each photograph is printed directly onto bullet casings, a choice that transforms the material remnants of violence into objects of beauty and remembrance. A portion of proceeds from The Unbroken Project supports relief and recovery efforts in Ukraine, extending the work’s message of resilience beyond the gallery and into the lives of those it honors.
