Meet James Verbicky - Artist Reception

Gilman Contemporary

Celebrating Gilman Contemporary's Ninth Anniversary, we are pleased to welcome James Verbicky for his fist solo exhibition in Sun Valley. Verbicky is renowned for what he calls “media paintings”, large sculptural assemblages of Baltic birch wood covered in vintage advertisements for popular brands and imagery from foreign magazines bought along the Seine in Paris. The gallery will present eight new works from this most highly sough after series. Verbicky's work was selected by the Societie Nationale des Beaux-Artes for an exhibition at the Carrousel du Louvre at the Louvre in Paris, France. His work is counted in many important private, public and celebrity collections worldwide, and he exhibits internationally from Berlin to Mexico City to across the United States.
