Located in the resort community of Sun Valley, Gilman Contemporary has established itself as a leading contemporary gallery in the Northwest. Exhibiting a Survey of Paintings by Ashley Collins to celebrate her induction into the Hall of Fame for the National Cowgirl Museum, alongside Reba Mcentire and Ann Romney. This honor is bestowed on few women each year, and for last five decades, this museum has been at the forefront of promoting women’s achievements in America.

Tomorrow night is Gallery Walk and we are featuring a survey of Ashley Collins' paintings in celebration of her upcoming induction into the Hall of Fame for the National Cowgirl Museum.

This remarkable honor is bestowed on few women each year, and for last five decades, this museum has been at the forefront of promoting women’s achievements in America. Says Collins “When I consider past inductees, from Georgia O’keene to Justice Sandra Day Conner, Patsy Kline to Temple Grandin, I am truly humbled…."

When Lanne Gilman approached me about doing a survey show in connection with this honor, I felt it was an amazing idea, once which shares with viewer, a bit of my own journey, a touch my own soul… perhaps this can motivate others as to what they can accomplish if they refuse to hear the word “No” and follow their dream, no matter how painful or difficult.”

Collins is being honored for her work not only in helping break price points and the glass ceiling for women in contemporary art, but using that same success to help women and children worldwide to achieve their own dreams… whether helping women in Ethiopia at the Hamlin Fistula Hospital, Cambodian Women and Children in Orphanages and Sewing Schools to prevent trafficking, Children with Cancer at Camp Rainbow Gold here at home, and many other grassroots charities that would not have their impact without Collins hands-on help and funding
